Use the narrowest size tubular bandage for a finger Cut twice the length by laying the bandage next to the finger and doubling it. Push the tubular gauze bandage over the applicator
Apply your dressing choice over the finger
Cut dressing to fit over the finger on each side of a finger joint. This can be short or longer, however if longer, it is easier for the applicator to hold the dressing while pulling the tube over a finger.
Clamp applicator over finger and push tubular bandage down the applicator
Push the applicator over the finger and hold the bottom of the applicator firmly onto finger and push half of the length of the tubular bandage to the bottom of the applicator
Hold the end of the tubular bandage and retract the applicator to finger tip
Anchor the tubular bandage at the base of the finger and pull the applicator backward to the tip of the finger and give it a half twist. Try not to turn more than one turn or the bandage may become a hard knot and hurt the wound.
Push the applicator back down the toe, which pushes the second half of the bandage back on itself
The layer should be same length as the first layer. If done wrongly, just pull off tubular bandage, holding the dressing down first before you do so
Tape the bandage down
Use paper tape such as micropore or mefix to tape the bandage, trying not to tape over a joint
